Fitting a new harness to your dog
If your dog's current harness is old and tired, you should consider buying a new one. The best place to start is with a high quality harness that will fit your dog comfortably and securely from the start. You will need a bit of skill to put it on your dog as it's easy to pull out the harness straps and let your dog wriggle free.
The first time you put your dog in the new harness, it may feel strange to have his head and shoulders held tightly in place. This is normal, most dogs get used to this feeling and don't mind. As the harness is used over time, the straps get used to it and your dog will become more comfortable with it.
You need to make sure you are using a quality harness for your dog, do not try to fit a cheap, poorly designed harness as it will not stay secure. You must be able to fit the harness straps securely around your dog without any difficulty, and this takes practice. To make sure this is the case, always have someone else with you to help.
Once the harness is secure, you must fit your dog in the correct standing position in the harness. This is usually achieved by using a body harness that has a special fit for the dog. The body harness will be fitted as the dog lies down and you pull on the harness straps.
You can check if your harness is fitted properly by feeling the area of the harness between the chest area and the lower part of the legs. If the fit is too tight in the chest area and too loose around the legs, you may be pulling too much on the chest area and not enough on the legs. You can also use your dog's hind legs to feel the fit, if they are pulling in the right direction, then the fit is good.
To get your dog to sit on command, get him used to doing this before trying to sit on command. You need to first teach your dog to stand correctly, and then make him sit.
Sit in the following way: stand in front of your dog with both your hands holding his collar. Make sure he is standing up strght and do not let him fall backward. Give him a light tickle with your hands along his back to make sure he is standing correctly. Your dog will probably start to wiggle his tl and may look as though he is going to fall backward. But do not let him fall, as soon as he starts to topple forward, put your hands at his rear end and stop him from falling. At the same time, make a slight movement backwards with your arms so he has to stay upright. Continue to pat your dog's back to keep him upright until he understands what you are trying to teach him.
Next, gently push your dog's rear end to one side. You must be aware that your dog may start to fall forward because he does not understand what you are trying to teach him. At this point, let him fall back on to the ground. When he has been taught to balance on one foot, bring him up, pat his back, and start to walk away. Your dog should stay upright and walk in the opposite direction.
This is how you teach your dog to stand on one foot. Once he understands that you want him to stand on one foot, the next step is to make him do this over and over agn. Practice this technique until he understands the concept. Next, you need to teach him to stand on his hind legs. You will have to get your dog used to standing up on his hind legs. Do this by placing your hands at your dog's rear end and then making a slight backward movement. Your dog should not fall back, but stay upright as you move back. When he gets used to the idea, you can start to let him fall back. However, stop him when he tries to stand up.
When your dog has mastered standing on one foot, you can then teach him to perform a balancing exercise. Have your dog stand on his front legs and then hold your hand gently behind his hind legs. Continue to push him forward until he understands that if he falls forward, his head will make contact with the ground. At this point, push your dog backward so that his head is almost in contact with the floor. You must continue to practice this exercise until he masters it.
## Trning Your Dog in the Car
If you are planning on having a dog in the car, you need to make sure that he is fully trned before you put him in your car. This is especially true if you have never taken your dog to the veterinarian before. Most dogs that are left unattended in cars tend to become anxious. This is because dogs are naturally afrd of changes in their environment. When you are driving, your dog will start to show signs of fear when you have to stop the car, or when you stop at a red light or change lanes. Most of the time, this means that you will have to stop the car and try to calm your dog down.
Here are some tips for trning your dog to ride in the car with you:
• Start by taking your dog out of the house a few times a day. Make sure you leave the leash on, and if your dog starts to become overly excited, take him to a quiet place to calm him down.
• After you have taken your dog out of the house several times, you can make it a habit to take him along to go to the vet. Your dog will begin to associate the vet's office with positive experiences, and as a result, he will become more accustomed to visiting the doctor's office.
• After a week or two of trning, you will be able to leave your dog in the car, but have your child sit with him in the car to watch for signs that your dog might start to get anxious.
• As you are out in public, take a toy that your dog is accustomed to playing with with you. You might even put it in a carrier to make your dog happy. As long as your dog has his chew toy, he will not be able to get too anxious.
• After several months, you can actually take your dog for a ride. If you think that your dog might be too anxious, take him to the vet so that he can check your dog for any health issues.

## _Food, Feeding, and Foul Odors_
**Your dog is an** outdoor living companion, and, like any other outdoor companion, he needs to eat to survive. Although most dogs are capable of eating their own food, they are not capable of cleaning up after themselves. They need a way to help them out with their dly meal, so let's take a look at what a doggie dish looks like, and how to clean it up.
### **The Parts of a Dog's Stomach**
A dog's stomach is called a _paunch,_ and there are three different parts to it. These parts are, from front to back, the _Cardia,_ the _Pylorus_ , and the _Melaenchus_.
The _Cardia_ is the part of the stomach that is closest to the esophagus. When a dog eats, his food goes from the _Cardia_ into the _Pylorus_. When a dog eats, the food and _Pylorus_ move together.
_Melaenchus_ means "cushion," and this is the part of the stomach that stores nutrients. The _Pylorus_ is where food passes through, and the _M
